Company Description:
Sandbox VR is the world’s most advanced virtual reality experience. Our immersive full-body, free-roam VR adventures allow guests to step inside a new world and become the hero of their own cinematic story.
Our venue is fast-paced, high-energy environments where teams of guests come together to escape reality and dive into thrilling adventures — from battling zombies to exploring space.
We are currently operating in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast with plans for further growth — and we’re looking for the right people to grow with us.
Job Description:
We are currently hiring for a Guest Experience Guide (GEG) to join our Melbourne CBD team.
This is a casual position with the opportunity for future growth and development.
As a Guest Experience Guide, you will play an important role in creating memorable experiences for every guest. From the moment they arrive to the moment they leave, you'll help ensure their visit is welcoming seamless and fun.
We are looking for enthusiastic university students or recent school leavers who enjoy working with people and delivering outstanding customer service in a lively, fast-paced environment. If you are available across weekdays and weekends, bring a positive attitude and enjoy being part of an energetic team, we would love to hear from you.
If you’re outgoing, confident with people and love creating memorable experiences, you’ll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Guest Experience: Build genuine connections with guests, understand their needs, and identify opportunities to enhance their experience through upgrades, add-ons and repeat bookings. Create memorable experiences that encourage guests to return and recommend us to others.
- Tech Savvy: Confidently set up and operate VR equipment, troubleshoot basic technical issues, and work with support teams to resolve problems quickly and minimise disruption to guests.
- Deliver 5-Star Service: Provide consistently friendly, attentive and professional service that exceeds guest expectations and contributes to positive feedback and reviews.
- Clear Communication: Proactively share guest feedback, operational issues and technical concerns with the leadership team, helping us continuously improve the guest experience and day-to-day operations.
- Lead the Experience: Take ownership of each guest journey, from welcoming and briefing guests through VR setup and safety checks to gameplay hosting and the completion of their experience.
- Operational Support: Work closely with the Leadership Team to deliver daily priorities, support smooth venue operations and contribute to team and business goals.
- Clean & Safe Environment: Ensure VR equipment, experience rooms and guest areas are clean, organised, safe and ready for every session.
Qualifications
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Enjoy working with people and have experience in a guest or customer-facing environment such as entertainment, hospitality, retail or events. Experience is valued, but a great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and can stay calm, positive and focused during busy periods.
- Are confident with technology and comfortable learning new systems and equipment. No technical background is required — we’ll provide the training you need.
- Are a strong communicator who can confidently engage with different guests and contribute positively to the team.
- Are reliable and proactive, with a willingness to jump in and help wherever needed.
- Can meet the physical requirements of the role, including being on your feet for extended periods, moving throughout the venue and safely lifting equipment up to 10 kg.
Nice to Have (But Not Essential)
- Current First Aid or RSA certification, or willingness to obtain the required certification after commencing (within 2 weeks).
- An interest in gaming, technology, VR, entertainment or immersive experiences.
- Previous experience in hospitality, entertainment, retail or customer service.
