About the position
The position is responsible for the development and delivery of the program, monitoring and reporting, managing a small team and stakeholder expectations. This position will also be responsible for establishing the Memorandum of Understanding for the relationship with the surrounding Councils. The position will work closely with service delivery locations and other government departments including Health, Education, Department of Communities and Justice, and Emergency Services as well as community stakeholders on behalf of council.
Key Responsibilities
- Project manage and coordinate the successful delivery of a government project including management of project plans, resources, budgets, and risk management, whilst ensuring measurements are put in place to monitor the success of the program
- Develop and implement a localised government project to ensure workers and their families are appropriately resourced including support for relocation, housing, education and childcare, employment, accessibility and healthcare, and deliver events which foster social connections, leisure and recreation and, cultural connections
- Manage and lead employees to achieve the successful delivery of a government project
- Develop and deliver a marketing and communication strategy in collaboration with the government and councils to promote the region and the government project
- Provide advice to Local Working Group, and Council on the outcomes of the program, activities and qualitative feedback from key workers and recruiters to identify challenges and opportunities impacting the program through the provision of comprehensive research and reports
- Effectively plan and monitor budgets, prepare submissions for additional funding, government reporting requirements and manage sponsorship agreements
- Act as the program spokesperson for media enquiries relating to government project, including print, radio and television
About you
- Bachelor Communications or similar, combined with minimum of 5 years experience in a similar customer facing role relevant to the requirements of the position
- Significant experience in delivering project management and casework
- Ability to design, implement and evaluate initiatives in a creative way
- Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication skills and ability to connect with people from all parts of the community and with various levels of government
- Ability to work autonomously to ensure the program is delivered to meet the government program goals and objectives
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement ability to network with local services, attractions and groups
- A current NSW Drivers License and flexibility to work weekends and afterhours as required
What we offer
- Temporary part time, 21 hours per week, until 31/07/2027
- Salary from $58,251 to $63,048 per year (depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation
