This position is for lead educator in the nursery room, reporting to our Centre Director and Area Manager. This role can be part time or full time. We have opportunities for Cert III educators willing to further their studies with a paid on-the-job traineeship, or persons who already hold Diploma level (or working towards ) child care qualifications. You will need to live locally to the centre and have reliable transport. This position will suit someone who has a passion for children’s education and care, and some leadership experience in a similar role.
We are looking for someone with excellent presentation and communication skills.

Duties include:
· room programming, reflections, observations, QIP contribution
· educating and caring for children between the ages of 0-5yrs
· actively maintaining a healthy, safe and supervised space for children to play and learn
· liaising closely with families to meet children's needs
· building trusting relationships with children and their families
· giving verbal feedback to parents and guardians about the child’s experiences at the centre.
· maintaining a supportive room routine
· duties of a Responsible Person
· leading a small team of assistant educators
· cleaning and general duties
· meeting requirements of mandatory reporters
The successful candidate will need:
· to hold and maintain a current Working with Children Check
· be available to be rostered Mon-Fri between the hours of 7am and 6pm as the needs of the role and the business may require
· Hold a minimum Cert III in Early Childhood Education and Care
· Have no prohibition notices
· Have completed the GECCKO foundations course (Free online course)
· Hold current HLTAID012 First Aid for Child Care setting
· Food Safety Certificate (free online course)
· Hold CHCPRT025 Child Protection training and refresher < 12 months
· Be fit and able to work directly with children
Rostered hours are part time to full time depending on the needs of the business and the capabilities of the employee.
