What your day could look like
As Nurse Unit Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering coordinated, person-centred care for older people across hospital and community services. From guiding complex clinical decisions to shaping how services evolve, you'll work with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes and strengthen care delivery across the region.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
Leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality geriatric care across multiple service areas
Using clinical expertise and data insights to guide decisions that improve patient outcomes and service performance
Driving service improvements, quality initiatives, and innovation that enhance patient experience and care delivery
Managing resources and operations to ensure services run efficiently while supporting staff development and wellbeing
Let's talk about you!
You're a confident and experienced clinical leader who balances strong decision-making with genuine care for people. You lead with compassion, act with integrity, and bring others along with you through change. You take pride in creating environments where teams feel supported and patients receive the best possible care. You're motivated by making a meaningful difference in the lives of older people and shaping services that meet evolving community needs.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with relevant professional authority
Strong experience in geriatric care, including acute and/or community settings
Proven leadership capability managing teams, resources, and service delivery outcomes
Expertise in clinical governance, safety standards, and quality improvement
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have postgraduate qualifications in nursing, leadership, or health management and experience leading across diverse or complex service models.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is passionate about delivering outstanding care for older people, committed to continuous improvement, and ready to lead with compassion, dignity, innovation, integrity and courage. In this role, you'll shape care that truly makes a difference.
