Whelan Property Group (WPG) is a company incorporated under the Corporations Act providing a range of Strata and Community Management services in NSW.
WPG was established in NSW in 2006 and manages a large and diverse portfolio of buildings and schemes across Sydney and Greater NSW.
Located in Ultimo, our head office is within walking distance of Harbourside shops and restaurants, fitness facilities, Light Rail and Town Hall Train station. We are seeking an enthusiastic Trust Accountant to join the team.
Working in the friendly finance and accounts team, the main responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to :
- End-to-End Accounting: Manage the accounting function, including month-end and year-end processes, reconciliations, financial reporting, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of accounting activities.
- Strata & BMC Accounting: Manage Strata Plan and BMC accounting, including levy accounting, budget splits, opening balance reconciliations.
- Audit & Compliance: Coordinate and manage annual audit processes, prepare supporting reconciliations and documentation, liaise with auditors and work closely with strata managers to resolve queries.
- Financial Reporting & Accounting Advice: Prepare and review financial reports, analyse financial information and provide accounting advice and support to clients and managers.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Review proposed strata budgets, assist with cash-flow reporting when requested and provide financial insights to support effective budget management.
- Levy Management: Oversee levy posting and distribution processes.
- Trust Funds & Investment Accounts: Manage client’s trust accounts & investment accounts and coordinate with banking institutions to ensure transactions, reconciliations, and account requirements are completed accurately and on time.
- Team Support: Provide financial and accounting support to strata managers, mentor junior team members.
- Ad Hoc Support: Provide assistance with ad hoc financial and accounting tasks as required by the reporting manager.
To be considered for this role ideally you will have:
- At least 4 years' experience in the similar role
- Excellent communication skills, (written and verbal) for liaising with both internal and external stakeholders
- Exceptional customer service focus
- Great attention to details and work well under pressure
- Team player
- Ability to multitask
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience in Strata Management would be highly regarded
Degree in Accounting and Trust Account experience.

Pay: $95,000.00 – $106,000.00 per year
