Costerfield Operations, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is situated in Central Victoria, east of Bendigo and surrounded by numerous towns within a 50km radius, offering a variety of residential options.
Our current operation runs an underground mine and processing plant that is responsible for producing gold and antimony. The mine's workforce consists of over 250 permanent employees who hold various roles in professional, technical, mining, processing, and trades.

About The Role
Reporting to the Core Shed Supervisor, the Geology Technician provides in-field and site support to Geologists by ensuring the safe transportation and handling of core samples.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
· Assist in collection of core samples from field operations.
· Processing and preparation core for Geologists at the core shed:
§ Wash and label
§ Correctly orient the core in trays
§ Photograph core
§ Cut core
· Coordinate density testing on core and rock samples as required.
· Ensure the accuracy of data entry and integrity of data base is maintained.
· Ensure core is stored correctly and safely, using both mechanical and manual methods.
· Ensure core shed and surrounding area is neat and tidy at all time.
· Drilling Contractors in all areas of exploration, including core handling and site r ehabilitation.
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- Experienced in collecting, handling and storing core and samples (preferred).
- Possess good IT skills and accurate data entry skills.
- Be capable of working outdoors for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
- Hold a valid manual driver’s licence.
Forklift licence is advantageous, but not essential.
