As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Wall and Floor Tiler to join our team.
Responsibilities:
As a Wall and Floor Tiler with Surface Projects Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality tiling and waterproofing finishes across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects throughout Queensland.
Duties:
- Reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and site measurements to determine the most efficient tile layout and installation approach for each project.
- Preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing existing finishes, repairing uneven areas, cleaning substrates, and ensuring surfaces are suitable for waterproofing and tile installation.
- Installing ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, marble, glass, and other tile products on internal and external walls, floors, bathrooms, kitchens, balconies, and other project-specific areas.
- Measuring, cutting, shaping, and trimming tiles using specialised hand and power tools to achieve precise finishes around edges, corners, fixtures, drainage points, and service penetrations.
- Applying waterproofing membranes, adhesives, and associated installation materials in accordance with manufacturer specifications, Australian standards, and project requirements.
- Positioning, aligning, and spacing tiles accurately to ensure level surfaces, consistent joints, and a professional finish across all installations.
- Completing grouting, sealing, finishing, and final detailing of tiled surfaces to meet Surface Projects’ quality standards and client expectations.
- Carrying out waterproofing and tiling works as part of integrated project delivery across residential renovations, commercial developments, and government infrastructure contracts.
- Inspecting completed work, rectifying defects where required, and ensuring finished installations comply with project specifications, workplace safety requirements, and quality assurance procedures.
- Working collaboratively with project supervisors, waterproofing technicians, builders, and other trades to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within scheduled timeframes.
Qualifications:
- Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling (or equivalent)
- Certificate IV in Wall and Floor Tiling (or equivalent)
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant post-qualification experience in wall and floor tiling.

- Be willing work away from Brisbane as we occasionally work in other locations.
- Weekend work may be required.
- Have a valid White/Blue Card.
- Have a driver’s license and vehicle.
