The Role
As a Delivery & Optimisation Planner, you will transform approved servicing and investment plans into practical projects, programs and operational activities that keep Yarra Valley Water resilient, compliant and responsive to customer needs and emerging risks.
With a strong focus on asset management, you will optimise maintenance strategies and delivery plans to manage risk, maximise value and support reliable service outcomes for both current and future customers. The role also coordinates urgent and responsive works and provides referral support for customer enquiries and approvals.
Your Key Responsibilities

Turn servicing and investment plans into deliverable programs and projects.

Optimise maintenance strategies to improve asset performance and customer outcomes.

Coordinate responsive and urgent works to manage operational risks.

Support customer enquiries and internal approval processes.

Develop project scopes and delivery packages, managing permits, approvals, and access requirements.

Maintain accurate asset information to support effective planning and decision-making.

Plan and prioritise short-term asset needs to maximise resources and minimise service disruptions.

Work across multiple service areas to deliver integrated and efficient outcomes.
What we’re Looking for
- Someone with a tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent STEM related discipline
- An understanding of environmental and community outcomes aligned with corporate strategy
- Experience managing statutory approvals and navigating planning and regulatory requirements.
- Strong skills in risk assessment, mitigation, and management, with the ability to make informed decisions and balance competing priorities.
- The ability to manage consultants and communicate technical information effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proven success building and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and positive outcomes.
- Flexible and resilient in the face of uncertainty, with a willingness to adapt and learn as things change.
- Cultural awareness and competency, with a respectful approach to working alongside Traditional Custodians and embedding care for Country in planning.

The full-time salary range for non-chartered engineers is $94,647.08 to $120,459.75 plus 12% superannuation, depending on your level of experience
