The Opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced LV & Auxiliary Maintenance Fitter to join our Maintenance team at the Duketon operation. Reporting to the Maintenance Execution Superintendent, you will play a key role in maintaining the site light vehicle fleet and auxiliary plant to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and available to support operational requirements.
This hands-on role will see you responsible for servicing, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a diverse fleet of light vehicles and auxiliary equipment, while contributing to a strong safety culture and high maintenance standards across site.
This is a site-based role, working on an 8:6 FIFO roster (ex-Perth).
About the Role
Inspecting work areas, equipment and vehicles for hazards, damage and defects
Servicing light vehicles and auxiliary plant in accordance with planned maintenance schedules
Diagnosing faults, breakdowns and equipment issues
Undertaking repairs and component change-outs to minimise downtime and maintain fleet reliability
Estimating labour, materials and parts required to complete maintenance activities
Ordering spare parts and consumables to support maintenance requirements
Maintaining accurate service and repair records for site vehicles and auxiliary equipment
Assisting with the training and development of apprentices
Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition
Supporting continuous improvement and contributing to a Zero Harm workplace culture
Skills and Experiences:
About you
To be successful for this role, you will have:
Trade qualifications in Automotive Engineering or a relevant mechanical trade discipline
Demonstrated experience servicing, repairing and maintaining a variety of light vehicle makes and models
Experience maintaining auxiliary mobile plant and site support equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills
Post-trade qualifications in areas such as automotive air-conditioning installation and repair will be highly regarded
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative maintenance team
Strong commitment to workplace safety and risk management
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
