The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) plays a critical role in supporting scientific exchange and medical engagement across multiple products and therapy areas, with a primary focus on oncology. This field-based role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and relevant stakeholders to facilitate evidence-based discussions, gather medical insights, and support initiatives that improve patient outcomes. The MSL will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to provide scientific expertise and contribute to the execution of the medical strategy across oncology and other specialty therapy areas.
Key Accountabilities

Build and maintain ethical, peer-to-peer relationships with external experts, including oncologists, haematologists, specialist physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.

Develop strong partnerships with KOLs and key stakeholders within oncology and relevant specialty care therapeutic areas.

Gather and communicate actionable medical insights to support medical strategy, evidence generation, and patient care initiatives.

Support advisory boards, scientific meetings, educational programs, and congress activities.

Provide balanced, accurate, and up-to-date scientific and medical information in response to unsolicited requests.
Medical Planning & Execution

Develop and maintain scientific and medical expertise in oncology and other relevant specialty therapy areas, including rheumatology & immunology, gastroenterology, rare diseases, and neurology.

Engage with KOLs, clinicians, and healthcare professionals to build partnerships and establish the product’s scientific credibility.

Map treatment pathways and protocols within hospitals and healthcare settings.
-
Conduct scientific exchange with healthcare professionals to support evidence-based practices and place in therapy.

Ensure the appropriate and compliant dissemination of scientific data and medical information.

Provide medical training and education to internal teams, including the sales and marketing team as required.

Develop and deliver medical presentations and facilitate discussions at key medical meetings and conferences.
Medical Support & Customer Engagement

Provide insights to the cross functional team in support of quality use of Link’s anti-infectives products.

Support medical education activities, including symposia, webinars, and key opinion leader (KOL) engagements.

Attend scientific conferences, medical meetings and institutional engagement to represent Link Healthcare’s scientific interests appropriately.
- Provide therapeutic area training and scientific support to cross-functional colleagues in accordance with company and country policies as required.
Regulatory & Compliance

Escalate any adverse events reports, product quality complaints, or compliance concerns to the appropriate pathways within required timelines.

Participate in and complete audits, training and compliance processes as required by company and/or regulatory requirements within required timelines and as per ethical standards.

Medical Plan Implementation – Contribute to the on-time creation and support per plan execution of annual medical plans, in alignment with cross-functional objectives.
2 Medical Support & Customer Engagement
- Insights – Deliver at least 6 actionable insights per month. Insights should be of suitable quality to share with Link Healthcare’s alliance partner.

Conference & Event Participation – Ensure strong medical presence at all major industry conferences relevant to the product portfolio.

Compliance Adherence – Ensure 100% compliance with Medicines Australia Code of Conduct, regulatory requirements, and internal SOPs.
4. Financial & Performance Management

Budget Management – Ensure sufficient advance travel planning to ensure optimal availability, cost- effectiveness and alignment with travel policies.
Knowledge, Compliance & Regulatory:
- Ensure all medical activities align with Australian Antimicrobial Stewardship principals, company policies, industry regulations, and Medicines Australia/Medicines New Zealand codes.

Administration

Ensure filing and documentation is up-to-date and in compliant with standard processes and formats.

Complete required reports within designated timeframes (e.g. expenses, product samples etc.)

Requirements

Advanced degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Life Sciences, or a related healthcare discipline (BPharm, MPharm, PharmD, PhD, MD).

1-2 years of Medical Affairs experience preferred.

Field Medical experience with demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with KOLs, preferably in oncology.

Experience in oncology is strongly preferred.

Experience in rheumatology & immunology, gastroenterology, rare diseases, and/or neurology would be highly regarded.

Excellent scientific communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
