About the Role
This position is a leadership opportunity in the Technical Support unit. The job is diverse, driving a strategic and consistent approach to compliance management across QPWS's South East Queensland region by supporting operational staff and collaborating with Statewide stakeholders.
Tasks include leading investigations, negotiating matters, building capability through staff mentoring and training, promoting safe field practices, and fosters a strong compliance culture. The position liaises with police and other agencies, facilitates solutions to visitor management issues, resolves complex compliance matters, assesses proposed developments near parks and forests, and provides legislative and policy advice to senior managers and stakeholders, including on native title and cultural heritage. The position manages 1 compliance Ranger.
