Job Description
Ramsay Health Care is seeking a relationship-focused Business Development Officer / GP Liaison Officer to support the growth of our mental health services by strengthening referral pathways and building meaningful partnerships with healthcare providers. This role will focus on developing and maintaining strong relationships with psychiatrists, GPs, practice teams and key referrers, supporting improved communication, referral pathways and access to Ramsay’s mental health services, including inpatient programs and group therapy offerings.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Hospital CEO and working closely with the Business Development and Growth Team, you will play a key role in supporting local growth initiatives through proactive referrer engagement, relationship management and data-driven insights.
Key responsibilities include:

Develop and deliver strategies to grow referrals through GP and psychiatrist engagement, networking and targeted business development activities.

Build and maintain strong relationships with psychiatrists, GPs, practice managers and healthcare referrers across the local community.

Promote referral pathways and support referrers to understand service offerings, admission processes and access requirements.

Coordinate GP education sessions, practice visits, stakeholder meetings and service updates.

Support psychiatrist engagement through site visits, relationship management and service briefings.

Track referral activity, engagement outcomes, trends and opportunities through CRM systems and reporting.

Partner with hospital executives, clinical teams, intake teams, marketing and national growth teams to deliver coordinated growth initiatives.

Identify barriers to referral and opportunities to improve the referrer experience.
What You’ll Bring
You are a confident communicator and relationship builder who enjoys connecting with healthcare professionals and working collaboratively with hospital teams. You are proactive, organised and comfortable using data and CRM systems to support engagement and growth outcomes.
Key skills and experience include:

2–3 years’ experience in business development, healthcare liaison, sales, stakeholder engagement or a similar relationship-focused role.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.

Strong communication, influencing and networking skills, with confidence engaging medical professionals.

Experience coordinating stakeholder events, education sessions or engagement activities.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously.

Ability to interpret data, identify opportunities and support growth initiatives.

Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office, with a focus on accurate reporting and data management.

Understanding of GP referral pathways, private practice environments or mental health services is highly regarded.

Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, health administration or a related discipline are desirable but not essential.

Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the local catchment.
