Senior Product Designer — Job Description
Summary
Lead product design efforts to create intuitive, user‑centered experiences; drive design strategy, mentor designers, and partner closely with product, engineering, and research to deliver high‑impact features.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end product design: user research synthesis, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and delivery to engineering.
- Define product design strategy and craft design roadmaps aligning with product goals and user needs.
- Run and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research (user interviews, usability testing, analytics) to validate concepts and inform decisions.
- Create user flows, wireframes, high‑fidelity mockups, prototypes, and design specs for web and mobile platforms.
- Establish and evolve design systems, component libraries, and UI patterns to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Advocate for accessibility, inclusive design, and performance in design solutions (WCAG standards).
- Collaborate with PMs and engineers to define scope, prioritize work, and ensure feasible implementations.
- Mentor and provide feedback to mid/junior designers; lead design critiques and hiring interviews.
- Present design work and rationale to stakeholders and leadership; incorporate feedback and drive consensus.
- Measure design impact through metrics (activation, conversion, retention, task success) and iterate based on outcomes.
- Drive cross‑functional initiatives to improve design processes, tooling, and collaboration.
- Contribute to product vision, participate in roadmap planning, and influence product decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Human Factors, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating end‑to‑end product work and measurable impact.
- Expertise in interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and information architecture for web and mobile.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Framer, Principle, or equivalent).
- Strong experience building or maintaining design systems and component libraries.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize research into actionable designs and hypotheses.
- Solid understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in agile product teams and delivering to tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with user research methods and partnering with UX researchers.
- Familiarity with front‑end technologies (HTML/CSS, React) to improve design‑engineering handoffs.
- Experience in B2B or consumer product domains relevant to the company.
- Track record mentoring designers, hiring, and growing design teams.
- Contributions to design community (talks, articles, open source design systems).
Pay: $85.15 – $111.12 per hour
