The Faculty of Education and Foundation Studies is committed to creating inclusive environments that foster student success. As a Casual Education Support Staff member, you will play a key role in supporting and supervising students aged 14–17 as they participate in hands-on TAFE taster programs. You will work alongside teaching staff to create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment, assisting students with practical activities, reinforcing safe work practices, and encouraging active participation. Your ability to build positive relationships, provide guidance and respond to individual learning and wellbeing needs will help students gain confidence as they explore vocational pathways. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting young people as they experience TAFE learning and discover future education and career possibilities.
To be successful, you’ll have:

Certificate IV in School Based Education Support or equivalent

The ability to attend campus from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm for up to two days per week, with flexibility to work across different programs and campuses as required.

Experience supporting secondary school-aged students or young people in an education, training, youth work or community setting.

The ability to build positive relationships with young people and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work collaboratively with teachers, TAFE staff and school representatives.

A calm, proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to respond effectively to changing priorities and student needs.
WWCC and Police Check:
Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
