Disability Support Worker
Location: Perth
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 per annum + superannuation
About the Role
Delight WA NDIS provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support services across the Perth metropolitan area.
We are seeking experienced, compassionate, and reliable Disability Support Workers to provide individualised support to NDIS participants with varying support needs, enabling them to achieve greater independence, wellbeing, and community participation.
This role involves delivering support across home, community, and social settings while maintaining participant dignity, choice, and safety at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred support in accordance with individual support plans
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care, grooming, dressing, toileting, meal preparation, domestic assistance and household tasks
- Support community access, transport to appointments, social engagement, and skill development
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote independence and wellbeing
- Monitor and report changes in participants’ health, behaviour, and wellbeing
- Maintain accurate documentation, including progress notes, medication records and incident reports
- Work independently across a range of environments while maintaining communication with the broader team
- Adhere to workplace health and safety, infection control and duty of care requirements
- Respect participants’ dignity, privacy, cultural values, and personal preferences at all times
- Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct in line with organisational policies and industry standards
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in disability support, aged care, community services or related field
- Experience providing personal care, including showering, grooming, dressing, toileting, continence support, and daily living assistance
- Knowledge of safe manual handling practices and infection control procedures
- Experience in supporting clients with mobility, transfers, positioning, and use of mobility aids
- Ability to assist with meal preparation, feeding, nutrition, and hydration support
- Experience performing household duties, including cleaning and laundry, while maintaining a safe and hygienic environment
- Ability to work independently and apply sound judgement in routine situations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with participants, families and stakeholders
- Competence in documentation, record keeping and reporting
- Reliability, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to person-centred care
About You
We are looking for caring, reliable, and motivated person who are passionate about supporting others. You will need:
- Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or equivalent
- Current National Police Clearance
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Current WA Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable, fully insured vehicle with roadside assistance
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- At least two professional references
