At Home with Bilyara are looking to recruit for a Casual or Permanent Part-time Home Care Domestic and Personal Care Assistant to join the growing team. This flexible position would be suited to an enthusiastic and passionate applicant who wants to work in the Home Care environment providing domestic and personal care assistant. We are looking for applicants from Cowra area to join our growing team.
POSITION PURPOSE
The primary function of the Domestic Assistant is to provide support to participants living within community, or assisted accommodation, to remain independent and to access their communities. Domestic Services and Personal Care needs will provide regular housekeeping duties or provide day to day personal care. Task in domestic may include, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, changing beds and cleaning dishes. Domestic Assistants are often required to work unsupervised and support and encourage participation in a range of community-based activities of their choice. While personal care task will include assistant in showering, medication or assisting with appointments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide home care including general housekeeping, personal hygiene activities and tasks, respite and transport services to appointments and activities.
- Monitor and report on client’s conditions as required.
- Deliver appropriate care according to the individual and personalised care plan.
- Establish and maintain a current and accurate confidential consumer reporting system.
- Provide information and feedback to At Home with Bilyara, management, staff, and other health professionals as required.
- Attends to the physical and/or social needs of elderly clients.
- Participate in continuous improvement of consumer care.
- Encourage consumers to be involved with care as required.
- Liaises with At Home with Bilyara for additional service, support and resources as required
- Maintain and enhance the dignity, integrity, rights and confidentiality of consumers.
- Accepts responsibility for his/her own actions.
- Attend and complete in-service education sessions and complete assessments as organised by Cowra Retirement Village Home Care
- Demonstrates awareness of own abilities and limitations, identifying learning needs and seeking guidance when necessary
- Maintains qualifications as required by role.
- Required to report any unsafe situations/incidents (including ‘near misses’) according to Cowra Retirement Village WHS reporting procedures.
- Required to apply industry standard infection control guidelines and practices.
- To be responsible and aware that all duties are performed according toAt Home with Bilyara Policy and Procedures at all times.
- Ensure that all duties are performed within State and Legislative framework.
The successful candidate will require.
- Current NDIS Clearance
- A current driver’s licence. Current First Aid Certificate
- Proven recent experience in the community would be preferred but not necessary.

- Compassion and a genuine interest in caring for the elderly, supporting their dignity, choices, and independence.
