The Centre for Population Health (CPH) aims to promote health and prevent morbidity and mortality caused by modifiable risk factors. The CPH portfolio encompasses blood borne viruses, sexual health, tobacco and obesity. The strategies used to address these issues include statewide policy and planning, legislation and regulation, program development, resource allocation, performance monitoring, research and evaluation.
This role is based in the Child and Family Programs team, Prevention Programs Branch. The branch provides statewide leadership in health promotion and service development aligned to the NSW Healthy Eating and Active Living Strategy 2022-2032 to reduce overweight, obesity and chronic disease. The Child and Family Programs team provides healthy eating and active living initiatives for children and families. This includes partnering with key stakeholders and local health districts to support the design, delivery and evaluation of programs in the community.
The Project Officer is responsible for managing projects related to the delivery of key statewide healthy eating and active living initiatives for children and families. The Project Officer undertakes and manages all aspects of allocated projects including planning, monitoring and reporting; and contributes to the monitoring and evaluation of healthy eating and active living initiatives.
Crown Clerk 7/8, starting salary from $113,574 - $125,720 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

Managing projects to support program delivery, monitoring and reporting, and continuous improvement.
Providing strategic advice and responding to Ministerial requests.
Contributing to the evaluation and monitoring of prevention programs, including the analysis and reporting of data.
Working collaboratively with others in CPH to implement statewide prevention programs.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
Sound and demonstrated knowledge of obesity, chronic disease prevention and health promotion issues specifically related to children and families, in particular priority populations.
Demonstrated organisational skills, the capacity to successfully complete several tasks concurrently and to achieve competing deadlines.
Effective oral, written communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to use and interpret data to prepare complex reports and submissions, which include reporting data.
Ability to work flexibly and effectively across policy and program areas within the Centre for Population Health if required.
