About the role:
Mimosa Homes is seeking a highly specialized Senior Web Administrator to join our growing IT department in Melbourne. This is not a standard administration role; we require a technical specialist capable of managing a hybrid infrastructure that bridges complex Windows and Linux environments.
You will be responsible for the uptime, security, and performance of our proprietary web-based construction management systems and customer portals. The ideal candidate must possess deep technical expertise in both Python and PowerShell scripting to automate workflows across disparate server environments.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Hybrid Server Management: Configure, maintain, and secure a mixed environment of Microsoft IIS (Windows Server) and Apache/Nginx (Linux) web servers.
- Advanced Automation: Design, write, and maintain complex automation scripts using Python (for Linux/General automation) AND PowerShell (for Windows management). Note: Proficiency in both scripting languages is mandatory for this role.
- Application Deployment: Facilitate CI/CD pipelines and troubleshooting for applications built on ASP.NET, PHP, and Node.js. You must be able to read code-level logs to diagnose runtime errors.
- Database Maintenance: Perform administration, optimization, and disaster recovery for SQL Server and MySQL instances.
- Security & Compliance: Manage WAF configurations, SSL certificates, and ensure rigorous data protection standards are met.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor high-load environments to ensure 99.9% availability for critical business tools.
To be considered, you should possess:
- Minimum 1 years of full-time professional experience in a Web Administration or Systems Engineering role
- Applicant will ideally hold relevant vocational or tertiary qualifications
- Dual-OS Expertise: Proven ability to administer both Windows Server and Linux operating systems at a command-line level.
- Advanced scripting skills in Python AND PowerShell are essential
- Working knowledge of deployment and debugging for PHP, ASP.NET, and Node.js frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with cloud hosting environments and virtualization technologies
- Self-motivated and a desire to succeed
- Strong work ethic and high attention to detail
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose cross-platform compatibility issues.
- Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
