We are currently seeking a compassionate, confident and reliable female Support Worker to provide ongoing in-home support to an aged care client located in Chester Hill, South-West Sydney.
About the Role
This role would suit a Support Worker who is confident with personal care and takes a patient, gentle and reassuring approach when supporting elderly clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Personal care, including showering, dressing and grooming
- Domestic assistance, including cleaning, laundry and bed making
- Meal preparation
- Social support and companionship
- Accompanying the client on walks
- Support with appointments and community access
- Following the client's individual care plan
- Completing accurate progress notes and documentation
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Female, due to the client's personal care needs and preferences
- Confident and comfortable providing personal care
- Compassionate, patient and respectful
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to build trust and provide consistent support
- Comfortable working independently in a client's home
- Committed to regular ongoing shifts
- Able to reliably travel to Chester Hill
Our client is an elderly member of the Filipino community and feels most comfortable with someone who understands her language and cultural background. Tagalog/Filipino-speaking applicants and those familiar with Filipino culture are strongly encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or equivalent) preferred
- Previous experience in aged care, disability, home care or community support preferred
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
