As a Disability Support Worker at Ahanacare, you will:
- Offer emotional support, companionship, and friendship to aged and disabled individuals
- Assist clients with mobility and daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety
- Support personal hygiene routines, including dressing and bathing
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if required
- Provide general household assistance, including cleaning, vacuuming, and other housekeeping tasks
- Arrange and participate in social activities to encourage community engagement and interaction
- Accompany clients to appointments and on daily outings, ensuring a positive and supportive experience
- Documentation, including writing reports and maintaining accurate records in accordance with agency procedures and management requirements
Skills and Experience Required:
- Prior experience in providing care for aged or disabled individuals is essential
- Knowledge of personal hygiene care and housekeeping practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to provide emotional support and build lasting relationships with clients
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as assisting with mobility
- Relevant qualifications in disability care or aged care will be highly regarded
Qualifications:
- Certificate III or IV or diploma in Aged Care, Disability Services, or a related field (desirable)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- National Police Check and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
Mandatory Requirements:
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
- 100-point Identity Check.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
