La Montagna Café, a well‑established dining venue located in Winmalee, NSW, is seeking a full‑time Chef to join our kitchen team. This is a permanent, full‑time position with a salary range of $80,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high‑quality dishes in accordance with our menu and standards. The role requires strong technical skills, consistency, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Duties
- Prepare, cook, and present menu items across breakfast, lunch, and dinner services
- Maintain high standards of food quality, portion control, and presentation
- Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and seasonal specials
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and minimise wastage
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS requirements
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff when required
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
Skills & Experience Required
- At least Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work weekends, public holidays, and split shifts as required
- Strong communication and time‑management skills
