About us:
Older Persons, Subacute and Rehabilitation Services (OPSAR) is a diverse and collaborative multidisciplinary service dedicated to supporting older people and adults with complex health needs to achieve the best possible quality of life. Through a range of inpatient and community-based programs, we focus on rehabilitation, recovery, healthy ageing, care navigation and person-centred care.
Our services span aged care assessment and memory services, rehabilitation, stroke, neurology, palliative care, transition care and community support programs, alongside innovative models of care including OPERA, OPEN ARCH, GEDI, OPeLS and RACF In-Reach. At OPSAR, you'll join a passionate team committed to delivering integrated, evidence-based care that makes a meaningful difference to patients, families and communities across the Cairns and Hinterland region.
About your opportunity:
Utilise high level knowledge and expertise, clinical decision making, organisational and risk management skills to enhance safe and efficient service delivery on a daily basis.
Demonstrate highly developed communication and negotiation skills with patients, their families and significant others, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Work collaboratively within the work unit and across professions to ensure effective service delivery, implement quality improvement, promote best practice in subacute services, advocate effectively and utilise effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
Provide direction, clinical practice supervision, education, mentoring and skill development of less experienced Occupational Therapy practitioners, Allied Health Assistants, support staff and students within scope of practice guidelines to ensure the development and maintenance of professional clinical standards.
