Looking for: -
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Procurement Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing procurement operations, establishing strategic supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effective purchasing processes, and supporting business objectives through efficient supply chain and contract management practices. The role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Roles and Responsibilities: -
· Developing and implementing procurement strategies and purchasing policies to support business operations and project requirements.
· Planning, directing and coordinating procurement activities related to construction materials, earthmoving equipment, machinery parts, fuel, tools, and operational resources.
· Identifying, evaluating and negotiating with suppliers, contractors, and service providers to achieve cost-effective purchasing outcomes.
· Establishing and maintaining strong supplier relationships while ensuring continuity of supply and service quality.
· Managing tendering and contract negotiation processes for procurement of materials, equipment and external services.
· Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring compliance with agreed service levels, contractual obligations, and quality standards.
· Reviewing purchasing requirements and forecasting material, equipment and resource demands based on project schedules and operational requirements.
· Developing and maintaining procurement budgets and implementing cost control measures to optimize expenditure.
· Ensuring procurement activities comply with relevant company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
· Analysing market conditions, supplier trends, pricing movements and risks to support strategic purchasing decisions.
· Collaborating with project managers, site supervisors and operational teams to ensure timely procurement and resource availability.
· Maintaining accurate procurement records, contracts, purchase orders and supplier documentation.
· Preparing procurement reports and providing recommendations to management regarding purchasing performance and improvement opportunities.
· Identifying opportunities to improve procurement systems, processes and operational efficiencies.
· Managing inventory and stock levels to ensure availability of essential materials and minimize unnecessary costs.
Skills and Attributes: -
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
· Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or related management roles.
· Knowledge of procurement processes, contract administration and supplier management practices.
· Strong negotiation, analytical and decision-making skills.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
· Knowledge of construction, earthworks or civil industry procurement practices will be advantageous.
Job Type & Salary: -
· This is a full-time permanent job.
· The base salary will be AUD 100,000–AUD 110,000 plus superannuation.
Working Hours: -
· Availability to work additional hours when required to meet operational and project deadlines.
