We are seeking two experienced and professional team members to join our Medical Imaging Team in Nhill who are excited to make a difference in rural Victoria!
- Sonographer: Part Time (0.4 EFT - 32hrs)
- Sonographer - Medical Imaging Technologist: Part Time (0.6 EFT - 48hrs)
The roles include:-
- Weekdays only and no on-call or call backs.
- Meals are provided through the catering department.
- Accommodation is offered when on-site.
- Travel expenses as per award conditions.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Medical Imaging Department, offers X-ray, OPG (dental x-rays), CT scans and ultrasound examinations. Our ultrasound service covers a broad range of disciplines which includes:
- Obstetric
- Gynaecologic
- Musculoskeletal
- General Ultrasound
Our imaging systems in Nhill are electronically linked to specialised radiologists based in Ballarat who supply prompt reports of all imaging results to all referrers.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
Sonographer:
- Current registration with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
- Effective communication and organisational skills.
- At least 4 years’ experience as a qualified Sonographer with experience in several examination types.
Sonographer - Medical Imaging Technologist:
As above, and:
- Current Certificate of Registration to practice from the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia, via the Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Hold a current Use Licence from Radiation Safety, Victoria issued by the Department of Health.
- Current registration with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES
- Perform ultrasound examinations in line with professional standards,
departmental policy and the Code of Ethics of the Australasian Sonographers Association.
- Support and guide undergraduate and MIT clinical practice to ensure safe, compliant radiographic and sonographic care.
- Complete examination-related clerical and statistical requirements accurately and promptly.
- Maintain the provision of an optimal safe environment protecting patients and staff from the dangers of radiation exposure and other hazard.
