We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated Disability Support Workers to join our growing team. *FEMALES ONLY Aged between 30-40yrs Preferred*
This role involves supporting a participant with a spinal injury, a variety of needs across different environments, including in-home care and community based supports. Shifts will vary and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, sleepovers and weekends.
*Location Inner City Brisbane*
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support with all activities of daily living, including personal care (showering, dressing, toileting, grooming) as required
- Assist with mobility and manual handling (where required)
- Support participants with community access, including appointments, social outings, and recreational activities
- Assist with household tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning and laundry
- Administer or assist with medication (where trained and authorised)
- Promote independence, dignity, and choice at all times
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes
- Communicate effectively with participants, families, and the broader support team
Minimum Requirements
- Certificate III in individual support (Disability, Aged Care, or equivalent) or willingness to obtain
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Valid Drivers License and reliable, insured vehicle
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Ability to perform personal care and manual handling tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
- Basic understanding of disability support and person-centred care
Desirable Skills and Experience (Highly Regarded)
- Previous experience in disability or community support work
- Experience with Spinal Injury
- Manual handling and medication competency
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
