About Us
Uniform Safety Signs (USS) has been manufacturing safety and traffic signage for over 35 years. Based in Thomastown, we supply a national customer base across Civil, Councils, Traffic Management and Distributor markets — and we're growing. We're looking for a reliable, hands-on Warehouse Team Member to join our Warehouse & Despatch team.
The Role
As a Warehouse Team Member, you'll be part of a small, close-knit team responsible for picking and packing customer orders accurately and safely, keeping the warehouse running smoothly, and helping us deliver on time, every time. Pick and pack duties are rotated within the team, so you'll get to know every part of the process — and no two days will be quite the same.
What You'll Do
- Pick customer orders accurately against pick slips and work orders
- Check and pack orders picked by a teammate — and have your own picks checked and packed in turn
- Make sure goods are packed appropriately, whether they're being freighted or collected by the customer
- Fulfil sales orders and select appropriate, cost-effective freight providers for despatch
- Operate a forklift or high reach forklift safely to move, load and stage stock (if you hold a current licence)
- Complete cycle counts of stock using the stock sheets provided by the Warehouse Team Leader
- Keep the picking and packing areas clean, tidy and organised
- Work safely and follow all WHS procedures, including wearing correct PPE
- Pitch in as part of the team to help hit daily despatch and delivery targets
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Ability to pick and pack orders accurately, safely and efficiently
- Good attention to detail and basic numeracy
- Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- A team player with good communication skills
- Physically able to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods
- A genuine commitment to safe work practices
- Previous experience in a warehouse, despatch or logistics role
Desirable (not essential — we can help you get there)
- Current forklift or high reach forklift licence
- Experience with NetSuite or a similar warehouse/ERP system
- Leadership experience, or the aspiration to grow into a leadership role
