CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
What you will be doing:
1. Provide professional advice, guidance and coaching to managers and employees across
a broad range of HR matters, including recruitment and selection, talent acquisition,
performance management, conduct and behaviour, workforce engagement, and job
design, in accordance with established frameworks and policies.
2. Partner with leaders to support the implementation of HR strategies, policies, programs,
and workforce initiatives, translating strategic intent into practical and operational
outcomes at the business unit level.
3. Contribute to HR-related projects and initiatives, including the development and facilitation
of workshops, tools and resources that build manager capability and support consistent
HR practices.
4. Provide operational input into workforce planning, succession planning, and talent
management activities, including identifying capability gaps and supporting agreed
development actions.
5. Coordinate and monitor the delivery of services by external and outsourced HR service
providers, ensuring service levels, contractual obligations and compliance requirements
are met.
6. Provide timely, practical, and compliant employee relations advice and case management
support, applying policies and procedures consistently and escalating complex, sensitive
or high-risk matters.
7. Assist in the development, review and implementation of HR procedures, HR systems
tools and process improvements that enhance service delivery, efficiency, and the
employee experience.
8. Drive the delivery of HR initiatives and programs, including culture and leadership
programs, employee engagement surveys, reward and recognition activities, and other
workforce initiatives as required.
9. Prepare HR-related correspondence, reports, and workforce data analysis to support
operational decision-making and reporting requirements.
10. Support the administration and coordination of Work Health and Safety (WHS) systems
and reporting requirements, including contributing to surveys, procedures, and
compliance activities.
11.Comply with the NTPS and Jacana Energy’s Code of Conduct, NTPS and Jacana Energy,
corporate values and strategies, policies, and procedures as well as other relevant
regulatory guidelines.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The ideal candidate must have:
1. Demonstrated experience providing HR business partnering and consultative services in
a complex organisational environment, with a strong generalist understanding of
employee relations and the practical application of HR policies and frameworks.
2. Well-developed negotiation, advocacy, mediation, and conflict resolution skills, with the
ability to influence managers and employees to achieve practical, compliant, and
sustainable outcomes.
3. Highly developed interpersonal skills and professional judgement, including the ability to
work autonomously with minimal supervision, manage competing priorities and maintain
a strong customer and stakeholder focus.
4. Demonstrated ability to positively influence and contribute as an effective team member,
including supporting the implementation of HR strategies, policies and change initiatives
in partnership with senior HR leaders.
5. Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess issues,
interpret data and develop logical, evidence-based solutions to workforce and employee
relations matters.
6. Demonstrated capability in coaching, facilitation and presentation, including delivering
HR-related training sessions, workshops and capability-building initiatives for managers
and employees.
7. A sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety legislation and obligations, and the ability
to apply WHS principles in an operational workplace context.
You may also have:
1. Relevant experience in the Retail Energy sector or Government owned-Corporation,
public sector or similarly regulated environment, ideally within the energy or utilities
sector.
