About the Role
Bundaberg Sugar is seeking an experienced Process Engineer who possess the skills necessary to work in conjunction with the Mill Production Chemist to resolve day-to-day production issues across the Mill and Refinery site, ensuring processes operate at optimal performance and achieve operational targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate factory reports, analyse, interpret and review current production data and methods to maintain and enhance production efficiencies. Monitor lab and operational data against established targets, advise areas of concern, including cane payment and sugar analysis.
- Supply technical advice and counsel regarding production and related matters to mill management and shift teams, as required.
- Investigate any proposed technical changes leading to productivity, environmental or quality enhancements.
- Use process control techniques to leverage better performance out of the existing plant.
- Assist with, develop, and implement mill or refinery capital projects during the non-crush period, in consultation with BWEL and site Engineering resources, to ensure project deliverables are achieved. During the non-crush, assist across site in projects as required and when available.
- Assist Mill Production Chemist with the direction of laboratory services section.
- Assist in the development and management of budgeting, planning and administration functions.
- Assist in the development and ongoing management of the operating procedures covering production, safety and quality
- Maintain operations within statutory and company environmental and safety standards.
Skills and Experience Required
- Tertiary qualifications in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or related tertiary qualifications
- Sugar Milling or Refinery experience and/or maintenance background (or a food processing industry background)
- Quality systems/HACCP Knowledge - ISO 9000
