About the role:
Reporting to the Regional Service Manager and Team Leader, the Senior Support Worker position is a permanent role, Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing residential and community customers with assistance, support and encouragement of independence to reside in their chosen community.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Provide support with day to day office operations
- Assist the senior leadership team with staff management
- Participate in the review of care plans and report any changes to Team Leader
- Maintain and build rapport with external support coordinators and providers
- Engage in Support Worker duties when required; i.e domestic duties and community participation
About you:
The ideal candidate will have compassion and experience working with those facing various life challenges, including interacting with people living with mental illness and disabilities.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A current Yellow Card / NDIS Workers Screening Check – or ability to acquire
- Current driver’s licence and a willingness to use your own comprehensively insured vehicle for work purposes
- Current First Aid Certificate and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Basic skills in oral and written communication with clients and other members of the public
- Knowledge of established work practices and procedures relevant to the workplace
- Knowledge of policies relating to the workplace
- Application of techniques relevant to the workplace
- Ability to develop knowledge of statutory requirements relevant to the workplace
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Outlook and Internet Explorer
