We're seeking motivated Lending Assessment Officers to join our Lending Assessment team and play a critical role in supporting customers to achieve their financial goals while maintaining strong risk and compliance standards.
As a Lending Assessment Officer , you will assess and progress lending applications while applying sound credit judgement within your delegated lending authority (DLA). This opportunity offers variety, challenge and the opportunity to develop expertise across different lending products, channels and application types.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assessing and make sound lending decisions by evaluating applications, applying credit policy and delegated authority, and managing complex scenarios
- Delivering exceptional customer outcomes through accurate, efficient application processing, proactive issue resolution and clear stakeholder communication
- Maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy and compliance, ensuring all lending decisions align with regulatory requirements, responsible lending obligations and risk appetite
- Effectively managing workflow and priorities to meet service standards, turnaround times and operational performance expectations across a range of lending activities
- Collaborating with colleagues to share knowledge, provide guidance and contribute to a high-performing, customer focused team culture
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement by enhancing processes, supporting quality assurance activities and contributing to better customer, risk and business outcomes

About you:
You are an experienced lending or credit professional who enjoys balancing strong customer outcomes with sound risk management practices. With a keen eye for detail and the confidence to apply policy and judgement, you will thrive in a fast-pace environment where quality and consistency matter, to bring the best outcomes to our customers.
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- Strong knowledge of credit risk, as well as responsible lending and compliance requirements
- Experience in retail lending and credit decisioning
- Experience with third party and broker channels
- Previous experience operating under a Delegated Lending Authority (DLA)
- The ability to interpret and apply lending policies, procedures and decision frameworks
- Strong analytical, organisational and decision-making skills, with high level of attention to detail
Excellent communication, coaching and relationship management skills
