About this role:
Placed in Queensland Rail’s Major Projects division as the Senior Vendor Adviser, you will be working with the Commercial and Contracts Team within Major Projects undertaking a combination of both Procurement and Contract Management activities. You will:
- Procure goods and/or services, develop associated contracts, integrated planning, sourcing, contract execution activities, and day-to-day administrative tasks, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and Queensland Rail's strategic objectives; and
- Manage key contracts for major vendors, while helping to improve the performance of your suppliers.
This role is a permanent role, based in Brisbane CBD.
You can expect some of your responsibilities to include:
- Lead end-to-end procurement of goods and services within Major Projects in line with relevant legislation and policy requirements to achieve commercial outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis to inform procurement strategies and decisions.
- Assist in the preparation, negotiation, and execution of contracts to secure favourable terms and conditions that align with organisational goals and requirements.
- Lead the preparation, negotiation, and execution of contracts, securing favourable terms and conditions that align with Queensland Rail's strategic goals.
- Support day-to-day procurement activities, including maintaining accurate business records, preparing procurement documentation, and assisting with contract management tasks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, driving conversations and collaboration as a trusted advisor within the business.
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed-upon standards and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Provide contract administration through all aspects of development and delivery of rail infrastructure within Major Projects using multiple contract types to achieve compliance to contract requirements.
- Manage stakeholder aspects including scope changes, reporting and contract delivery within budget, quality, and delivery milestones to achieve stakeholder satisfaction.
- Play a senior role in vendor management within an enterprise wide commercial service, managing contracts and relationships to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policy requirements to achieve optimal commercial outcomes.
- Manage the process of supplier performance reviews to ensure efficiency and effectiveness and ensure goods and services meet quality requirements as specified in relevant contracts.
- Manage the process of regular reviews of prices, contract terms and conditions, and key performance indicators for major goods and services with suppliers to ensure best value is achieved.
- Be accountable for the management and enhancement of relationships with Procurement vendors to build effective partnerships that will enable the implementation of innovation and improvement initiatives.
- Manage the monitoring of metrics to track progress and benefits of contract arrangements with specific vendors.
- Participate in formal benchmarking processes to determine 'best in class' and develop strategies to improve vendor performance.
- Drive a high standard of compliance, ensuring alignment with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in delivery.
