CNC Programmer / Operator – Full-Time

Salary: $75,000 – $95,000 per annum + superannuation (commensurate with experience)
Position Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Minimum 38 hours per week
About the Role
Unasco is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves programming, setting, and operating CNC machinery to produce high-precision components in line with engineering specifications and quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Programming CNC machines using G-code and/or CAD/CAM software
- Setting up and operating CNC lathes, milling machines, and machining centres
- Interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Selecting appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and materials
- Producing precision components to required tolerances
- Conducting quality inspections using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Troubleshooting machining issues and making program or setup adjustments
- Performing routine maintenance of machines and equipment
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety procedures
Skills and Qualifications
- AQF Certificate III or higher in Engineering (Mechanical / Metal Machining) OR
- At least 3 years of relevant full-time experience as a CNC Programmer/Operator or Metal Machinist
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming (G-code) and machining processes
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (desirable)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- University degree in mechanical engineering
