The Opportunity:
The position will primarily cover the Portland to Melbourne runs, with occasional local work also.
Full training will be provided including load restraint and buddy training with an experienced driver.
You will be in our new Scania trucks which are fitted with a fatigue camera and satellite tracking.
You will:
Transport bulk general freight for local deliveries, do runs from Portland to Melbourne, and the occasional local work when required
Apply appropriate load restraint understanding to meet safety requirements
Load & unload trailers using a counterbalance forklift
Move products around the yard, on and off different trailers as required
Undertaking pre-start vehicle checks
General housekeeping of vehicles
What you’ll bring:
We’re looking for someone who’s safety conscious, looking for full time consistent work and becoming an important permanent member of the driving team.
You will have:
Valid MC license
Forklift License (highly desirable)
Good driving history
Ability to follow instructions, and to communicate effectively
Strong commitment to safety
Previous experience operating and reversing B -Doubles with local deliveries
