With a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and customer service, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Officer to help drive our continued growth.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Officer to identify new opportunities and build long-term relationships within the construction industry. This role will focus on expanding our presence in the curtain wall and façade market by working closely with builders, developers, architects, and contractors.
You will manage the entire sales process, from prospecting and relationship building through to quotation, negotiation, and contract award, while collaborating with our estimating and project delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across commercial and residential construction projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with builders, developers, architects, consultants, and contractors.
- Promote our aluminium light gauge steel frames and trusses, joinery systems for residential and commercial projects and builders solutions.
- Manage the full sales cycle, including lead generation, client meetings, tender opportunities, negotiations, and contract execution.
- Collaborate with internal estimating, design, and project teams to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and upcoming projects.
- Represent the company at client meetings, networking events, and industry functions.
- Travel throughout the ACT and surrounding regions to meet clients and visit project sites as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience within the construction industry.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management.
- Experience with light gauge steel frames and trusses, joinery systems for residential and commercial projects and house construction is highly desirable.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel.
