Lead our flagship Rocklea Shredder Operation! A rare opportunity to drive the successful operations of our metal recycling business at the largest site in our ANZ network.

We are looking for a dynamic Yard (Facility) Manager to drive safety, efficiency, and productivity at our highest-volume metal recycling and shredder facility. This key leadership role oversees daily site operations, guiding a large team of 50+ across yard work, heavy plant machinery, processing, and weighbridge/administration.
Your responsibilities will include:

Lead and coordinate daily metal scrap processing, production, loading, and transport activities.

Manage and mentor weighbridge operators, machine and plant operators, and yard personnel with the structure support of 3 supervisors.

Optimise processing by utilising our knowledge of production flows, quality control, and cost management.

Partner with the Maintenance team to minimise asset downtime and collaborate with the Transport team to ensure the efficient intake of customer materials and interstate yard transfer.

Manage site efficiency, including monitoring stockpile volumes, recycling streams, and key operational metrics.

Champion a zero-harm safety culture through visible leadership, accountability, and total environmental and quality compliance.

Drive team engagement, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Develop a strong collective working culture focused on continued development and succession planning.
To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:
-
5+ years of leadership experience managing mid-to-large teams within heavy industry, manufacturing, waste recycling, or logistics.

Strong scheduling, coordination, and planning skills to maintain the optimal effectiveness of operations and logistics.
-
A natural influencer who can build strong relationships, drive team engagement, and deliver high customer service.

Previous experience with EHS management systems, project management, SAP, and SAI (highly regarded)

Technical knowledge of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metal sorting to international standards (highly advantageous)
