About the role:
The Sydney Clinic is seeking an experienced Counsellor / Psychologist to join our Mental Health Team on a casual basis. You will play a key role within a supportive Allied Health team, working closely with our Registered Nurses ensuring a high level of patient care to inpatients and outpatients.

Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrates knowledge, skills, judgement and care in the effective delivery of therapy services utilising a range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Strengths focussed Therapy for adults presenting with a range of psychiatric disorders including addictions
Providing individual and group-based counselling services
Maximising the efficacy of clinical services through the development of productive and professional relationships with Psychiatrists, General Practitioners and other referral sources
Providing input into the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic programs ensuring that they are current and congruent with patient needs
Demonstrates awareness of admission and discharge criteria for therapeutic programs as directed by Health Funds and associated bodies and complies with the completion of relevant documentation
Essential Criteria:
Relevant tertiary qualifications
Current full registration with Counselling Governing Bodies / AHPRA
Experience facilitating group therapy sessions
Experience facilitating 1:1 therapy sessions
Excellent interpersonal and writing skills
Sound clinical judgement and clinical reasoning skills
Commitment to professional development, ethical standards and self-reflective practice
Demonstrate a reliable, timely, organised and professional manner
An ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
Exceptional customer service skills
Highly Desirable Criteria:

Previous experience working in an Inpatient and / or Outpatient Mental Health service

Competent in the provision of a range of therapeutic modalities i.e. DBT, ACT, CBT with relevant training and certifications

Experience / qualifications in the treatment of Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) use disorders

Competence in crisis management and delivery of crisis interventions

Availability to work evenings and weekends if required
