Term of the Contract: 3 years (in line with clause 55 of the Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement). At the end of the training program, SCSS will work with the employee to assist find a suitable placement within SA Health for the remainder of the 3-year contract, if necessary.

SA Pathology invites applications for a highly motivated medical officer to join the Immunopathology Registrar training program—a gateway to attaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA). This unique role offers structured supervision alongside opportunities to participate in complex diagnostic work and contribute to clinical immunology services. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team that integrates cutting-edge laboratory techniques with direct clinical engagement, shaping outcomes for patients with immune-mediated diseases.
Throughout the program, registrars will be immersed in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, including teaching and clinico-pathological reviews. You’ll develop expertise not only through hands-on learning and personal study, but by actively contributing to research that advances the field. This is more than a training post—it’s a pathway to becoming a leader in immunopathology, within a supportive and intellectually vibrant environment.
About You
You're a committed and compassionate medical professional, ready to take the next step in your career within the specialised field of immunopathology. You bring both a solid clinical foundation and the interpersonal skills essential to making a genuine impact on patient care.
Hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, and are eligible for General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Possess sound knowledge of General Medicine, equipping you for diagnostic and clinical responsibilities.
Have demonstrable experience in Clinical Medicine, with a well-developed understanding of patient care in diverse settings.
Communicate clearly, empathetically, and professionally with patients, families, and colleagues, fostering trust and collaboration.
