Position Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and compassionate Dog Handler, Trainer & Groomer to join our team. This multi-skilled role involves providing exceptional care for dogs while ensuring their safety, health, training, and grooming needs are met. The successful candidate will be confident working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments, delivering high standards of animal welfare and outstanding customer service.
Key ResponsibilitiesDog Handling & Care
- Safely handle, supervise, and exercise dogs in individual and group settings.
- Monitor canine health, behavior, and well-being, reporting any concerns promptly.
- Feed dogs according to dietary requirements and administer medications when required.
- Maintain clean, safe, and hygienic kennels, play areas, grooming stations, and equipment.
- Ensure all dogs are treated with kindness, patience, and respect while maintaining a safe environment.
Dog Training
- Conduct obedience and behavioral training using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Assess canine behavior and develop appropriate training plans.
- Support owners by providing guidance on training techniques, behavior management, and responsible pet ownership.
- Maintain accurate training records and monitor each dog's progress.
- Promote safe interactions between dogs and handlers.
Dog Grooming
- Bathe, brush, dry, clip, trim, and style dogs according to breed standards or client preferences.
- Safely trim nails, clean ears, brush teeth, and perform basic hygiene services.
- Inspect dogs for skin conditions, parasites, injuries, or other health concerns and report findings.
- Maintain grooming tools and equipment in a clean, sanitized, and safe condition.
- Ensure every dog has a positive and low-stress grooming experience.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience (minimum of 3 years) in dog handling, training, and grooming.
- Strong understanding of canine behavior, body language, and welfare.
- Experience using positive reinforcement training methods.
- Competence in grooming dogs of various breeds and coat types.
- Excellent animal handling skills and confidence working with dogs of different temperaments.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting, restraining, and handling medium to large dogs safely.
- Reliable, organized, and attentive to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or qualification in Animal Care, Dog Grooming, Dog Training, or a related field.
- Current First Aid certification (animal first aid is desirable).
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience in a boarding kennel, dog daycare, veterinary clinic, or grooming salon.

Pay: $78,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
