Join the best. Be yourself.
“Being the best isn’t just about being the best professionals. It’s about being the best place to work, grow, be yourself.”
The opportunity:
We’re looking for a highly organised Legal Assistant to join our General Liability team in Sydney. In this role, you’ll support two Partners and their broader team, helping to keep a busy insurance litigation practice running smoothly.
You’ll work in a flexible hybrid model (typically 2–3 days in the office), with the balance from home. You’ll be closely involved in team activity, whether that’s day-to-day work, key matters, or firm initiatives, so you stay connected to both the team and the wider business.
What You'll Do:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to legal professionals, ensuring efficient matter management, client engagement, document preparation, and billing processes.
- Monitor and manage the Partner’s inbox and diary, including scheduling meetings, court appearances, and tracking critical deadlines.
- Coordinate medical appointments, liaise with experts, and manage logistics for appointments and reports.
- Support high-volume litigation files, prioritising urgent and complex matters, and provide client-facing assistance as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless workflow, especially during peak periods or reduced staffing.
- Assist with billing and expense processes in collaboration with the finance team.
What You Bring:
- Previous experience as a legal assistant within litigation, preferably in insurance (defendant or plaintiff).
- Proven ability to take initiative and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and legal software applications (such as iManage and Aderant).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence liaising with clients, lawyers, and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, a proactive approach to tasks, and a flexible, adaptable attitude.
- A genuine interest in supporting events, presentations, and team activities.
