The team
ASIC's Enforcement Services group provides expert support to enforcement and compliance teams through data, technology and digital processes.
The Enforcement Data Analytics Team (EDAT) sits at the forefront of this capability - working on complex investigations, developing reusable tools and pipelines, and supporting the safe adoption of new technologies to deliver better regulatory outcomes.
The role
As a Senior Data Analyst - Technology Lead, you will provide technical leadership across the Enforcement Data & Analytics Team (EDAT)'s analytics platforms, pipelines and solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining delivery, oversight and mentoring.
You will:
- Lead the design and delivery of complex data and analytics solutions, including end-to-end data pipelines and analytical workflows
- Ensure EDAT solutions are robust, scalable, maintainable and aligned to enterprise standards
- Apply systems thinking to balance immediate investigative needs with long-term sustainability and reuse
- Provide expert analytical support to multidisciplinary teams working on high-priority enforcement investigations
- Review and quality assure analytical outputs and code to ensure accuracy, transparency and repeatability
- Establish and promote technical standards, design patterns and documentation practices across the team
- Mentor and coach team members, building collective capability and reducing reliance on single experts
- Translate business and investigative needs into well-designed technical solutions
- Work closely with internal technology and data teams to trial and adopt appropriate technologies, including emerging and AI-enabled analytics approaches in a controlled, risk-aware environment
- Influence stakeholders on the appropriate use of data and analytics to support enforcement outcomes

About you
You are a senior technical practitioner and leader who combines strong hands-on expertise with the ability to design and guide scalable solutions.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering complex data and analytics solutions (including end-to-end pipelines and production-ready systems)
- Advanced Python programming skills and experience working with cloud-based platforms (e.g. AWS, Databricks or similar) and automating processes
- The ability to apply systems thinking, including architecture, lifecycle management and technical debt considerations
- Proven capability to lead technical delivery while mentoring and uplifting team capability
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience in a regulatory, financial services or complex environment is highly regarded
