About the role
NIRAS Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our team in Fitzroy, Victoria. This is a full-time position designed for recently qualified electrical engineers eager to launch their professional career in the engineering sector. As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will work on diverse projects whilst developing your technical expertise under the guidance of experienced professionals. This role offers the ideal opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge in real-world engineering scenarios and establish a strong foundation for your career in electrical and electronic engineering.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of electrical and electronic systems and components
- Support senior engineers in conducting technical analyses and feasibility studies
- Contribute to the preparation of technical drawings, specifications and documentation
- Participate in project planning and scheduling activities
- Conduct testing and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet technical and safety requirements
- Support the completion of compliance and regulatory documentation
- Undertake site visits and inspections as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution
- Recent graduate or early-career professional with limited post-graduation experience
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, theories and practices
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and relevant engineering tools
- Knowledge of relevant electrical safety standards and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
- Willingness to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent as part of your career development
