We are seeking an experienced medical receptionist to join our team.
Main responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Answering telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner
- Meeting and greeting patients in a friendly manner
- Booking appointments and managing the front desk.
- Processing patients billing using the Best Practice Software
- Handling of faxes/emails, filing, scanning and copying
- Performing general administrative and reception duties
- Maintaining the practice in a clean and a tidy condition
- Maintaining confidentiality while managing patient records
- Providing support and assistance to our nurses and doctors as a team
- Handling of cash, EFTPOS, and other payments
- Other duties as may be directed
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to answer high volume phone calls while entering details on the computer and multi-tasking
- Ability to show empathy towards others and a general desire to assist patients and staff
- Be able to remain calm under pressure with a positive attitude
- Exceptional attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
- Highly capable in following processes and procedures
- Willingness to take direction and work collaboratively as part of a team
- Enthusiastic, approachable and genuinely caring.
- A sense of empathy and maturity when communicating with patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word) and databases.
Previous medical receptionist experience is preferred, but administration and/or reception experience in other fields will be considered.
