We are looking for a reliable and motivated Full-time/Part-time Assistant Store Manager to support and help oversee the day-to-day operation of our Melbourne stores.
This is a hands-on position suitable for someone who enjoys working with customers while also taking responsibility for staff support, store standards and sales performance.
About the Role
This is a multi-site role covering our stores at The Glen, Doncaster, Melbourne Central and Highpoint. You will generally be rostered at one store per shift but may be required to work at different locations depending on operational needs.
You will help ensure that stores operate smoothly, staff are properly trained and supported, and sales and customer service standards are consistently maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Support with daily store operations
- Provide guidance, supervision and support to retail team members
- Assist with staff training, onboarding and performance feedback
- Monitor customer service, upselling and product presentation standards
- Help the team work towards daily and weekly sales targets
- Prepare and cook popcorn according to company recipes and quality standards
- Monitor stock levels, packaging and store supplies
- Assist with stocktake, ordering and stock transfers between stores
- Ensure food safety, cleaning and workplace safety procedures are followed
- Complete store opening and closing procedures when required
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve minor complaints professionally
- Provide management with updates regarding store performance, staffing or operational issues
- Support promotional activities, sampling and shopping-centre campaigns
- Travel between stores when additional support is required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous retail, hospitality or food-service experience
- Previous experience as a Supervisor, Team Leader, Duty Manager or Assistant Manager
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Confidence in supervising and providing feedback to team members
- A proactive and hands-on approach
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- The ability to work independently and make practical decisions
- A strong understanding of cleanliness, food safety and store presentation
- Flexibility to work across weekdays, weekends and shopping-centre trading hours
- The ability to travel between our stores when required
Experience in staff training, rostering, stock management or working across multiple retail locations will be highly regarded.
