About the role
Coles’ meat export business has been in operation for 20 years and generates over $500m in sales to 40+ countries globally. The meat export team is a dedicated team under our Meat Deli Seafood & Convenience team who focus on achieving the business commercial return for carcass balance volume from Coles integrated meat model.
In this role, you will be essential in safeguarding Coles’ brands in domestic and international markets by ensuring that supply is delivered in full, on time and within quality requirements, overall costs are minimised, and supply delivers optimal financial return.
You will also:

Contribute opportunities to improve operating environment (stock, supply chain, etc.) to advance an insight-driven and evidence-based approach to stock management and logistics

Work with stakeholders to evaluate, prioritize and present opportunities for improvement for endorsement and sign-off

Conduct structured reviews of logistics and administrative processes with a view to increasing their alignment with Coles Export’s strategic agenda

Manage supplier relationships and performance, including compliance issues (Shipping & Docs), working with suppliers to address capability and capacity constraints and resolve issues

Build customer confidence and trust by providing a consistently high-quality customer experience
About your skills
In this exciting role no two days will be the same. Our ideal candidate is someone with a long-term strategic lens who is highly collaborative and has exceptional attention to detail. You’ll also have a vested interest in upholding compliance standards.
Your skills should include:

Deep knowledge of supply chain and logistics and experience managing these domestically and internationally

Experience in handling all aspects of Shipping, facilitating orders / tracking / verifying product shipped, preferably experience working for a shipping line or an exporter which directly handles shipments

Understanding of financial management practices

Experience in generating export documentation (VECCI / Dept of Agriculture / ExDoc)

Ability to confidently liaise with customers / logistics operations to ensure orders are processed in a timely and accurate manner

Strong attention to detail

Excellent time management skills with the ability to work autonomously
