Our work goes beyond conventional English teaching. We help professionals communicate with greater clarity, authority and confidence in real workplace situations—including client meetings, presentations, leadership conversations, negotiations and other high-stakes interactions.
The opportunity
ESLAN is seeking an exceptional professional communication coach or trainer to support clients on an on-demand basis.
You will deliver individual coaching using programs, resources and coaching plans developed by ESLAN. Each program is tailored to the client’s role, professional goals and communication challenges and may address areas such as:
- clear, concise and structured communication;
- executive presence and professional credibility;
- persuasive and influential speaking;
- client and stakeholder communication;
- vocal delivery, pronunciation and intelligibility;
- active listening and effective questioning;
- presentations, meetings and difficult conversations; and
- confidence in high-stakes professional situations.
This opportunity may suit an experienced ESL or corporate English trainer, communication or presentation coach, voice and speech practitioner, learning and development professional, or someone from another relevant background with strong transferable experience.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one professional communication coaching online or in person.
- Follow the individual coaching plan and resources provided by ESLAN.
- Facilitate realistic workplace scenarios and role-plays.
- Observe clients’ communication behaviours and provide precise, constructive feedback.
- Adapt activities to each client’s role, industry and professional challenges.
- Maintain concise session notes and communicate relevant progress to ESLAN.
- Protect client confidentiality and uphold ESLAN’s professional standards.
About you
You will bring:
- exceptional spoken and written English;
- a confident, credible and engaging professional presence;
- strong listening, observation and interpersonal skills;
- the ability to identify subtle communication issues and explain them clearly;
- experience in adult learning, coaching, training or professional development;
- the confidence to work with experienced professionals and senior personnel;
- a practical and client-centred approach to feedback;
- reliability, discretion and sound professional judgement; and
- a genuine interest in helping people achieve lasting changes in how they communicate.
We welcome candidates with experience in areas such as:
- TESOL or English-language education;
- corporate communication training;
- executive or leadership coaching;
- presentation and public-speaking coaching;
- voice, speech, acting or performance training; or
- learning and development.
A relevant qualification in TESOL, adult education, communication, coaching, speech, performance or a related discipline would be advantageous.
Working arrangement
This is an on-demand opportunity, with coaching offered according to client demand, trainer suitability and availability. No minimum number of sessions or regular hours can initially be guaranteed.
Sessions may be delivered online or in person in Sydney. Before being assigned to a client, the selected trainer will receive a concise orientation to the client’s coaching plan, ESLAN’s approach and the resources to be used. Any substantial training, observation or trial coaching required by ESLAN will be arranged and paid separately.
As client demand grows, there may be opportunities for more regular work.

Pay: $80.00 – $90.00 per hour
