Romeo’s Best Vineyards Pty Ltd is one of Australia’s largest privately owned table grape producers. Romeo’s Best Farms are located in prime growing areas across the East Coast and Central Australia, including Mutchilba, Mareeba, Emerald, and St George in Queensland, as well as Robinvale in Victoria. The business aims to produce quality Australian table grapes all year round.
We are seeking a full-time and fully qualified accountant to join our finance team based in Robinvale VIC 3549. In this role, the successful applicant will take ownership of our daily financial functions and elevate our strategic reporting. The applicant should have a relevant bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Salary is $79,499 per annum plus super.
The Accountant at Romeo’s Best Farms will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Assisting in formulating and implementing budgetary controls and accounting policies tailored to agricultural operations; Preparing and presenting accurate financial statements for review by the Board of Directors, management and relevant statutory bodies; Providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements; Preparing and lodging taxation returns for the business; Maintaining, reviewing and strengthening internal control systems to protect assets and maintain data integrity across all business locations; Examining operating costs, seasonal vineyard inputs, and organisation expenditure to optimise profit margins; Evaluating cash flow requirements and appraising financial risks for capital investment projects; Providing expert financial and taxation advice regarding business structures, future expansion plans and operational efficiencies; Maintaining and optimising current accounting systems, and advising on the selection and integration of modern, agricultural or inventory-based accounting software; Liaising with financial institutions and brokers to establish, monitor and optimise funds management and seasonal finance arrangements; Conducting targeted financial investigations, managing external audits, and advising on complex matters including capital financing, business restructuring, tax strategy, or risk management.
