About the role
The opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Chemist to join our organisation on a full-time basis. The candidate will be responsible for overall lab and sampling operations to assist our Marine Operations and Inspections. The position will be based residentially in the remote Pilbara coastal towns of Port Hedland, Karratha, Dampier area and Fremantle in Western Australia.The position will primarily involve the following duties:
- Conduct quality control analysis of raw materials, intermediate products, finished products, and stability samples.
- Perform routine chemical and laboratory testing in accordance with approved procedures, analytical methods, and product specifications.
- Provide laboratory support for in-process testing and manufacturing activities.
- Prepare, standardise, and maintain laboratory reagents, chemicals, and solutions.
- Document analytical results accurately
- Examine test results, identify abnormal or unexpected findings, and report out-of-specification results to the appropriate personnel.
- Support analytical method verification, method transfer, and validation activities when required.
- Maintain laboratory instruments, equipment, calibration records, maintenance logs, and cleaning documentation.
- Coordinate environmental monitoring, microbiological analysis, and testing performed by external laboratories.
- Collect, prepare, label, and submit samples for internal and external laboratory analysis.
- Conduct testing and provide analytical support to facilitate the timely release of raw materials and finished products.
- Ensure laboratory areas are maintained in a clean, safe, organised, and compliant condition.
- Provide technical and laboratory documentation to support audits, customer enquiries, and quality investigations.

Relevant Australian Qualification or Overseas Equivalent – Bachelor Degree or higher qualification
Relevant 2-3 years work experience
Salary
$75,000 - $85,000 plus Super

· Experience in environmental science, environmental technology and/or laboratory technology
· Quality management and quality control in laboratory

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
