The Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, analysing and documenting business and technical requirements for Metro Finance's digital platforms, automation initiatives and business process improvement projects. This role works closely with stakeholders across the business and technology teams to identify opportunities for enhancement, improve operational efficiency, and support the successful delivery of technology solutions.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis & Requirements Gathering
- Conduct workshops, stakeholder interviews and discovery sessions to gather and document business requirements
- Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement, automation and operational efficiencies
- Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Process Definition Documents (PDDs), user stories and functional specifications
- Develop process maps, workflows, wireframes and other supporting documentation to clearly communicate business requirements
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure requirements are fully understood and aligned to business objectives
Solution Design & Delivery Support
- Collaborate with Product, Technology and Delivery teams to support solution design and implementation activities
- Translate business requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria for development teams
- Support backlog refinement, prioritisation activities and release planning
- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, stand-ups and retrospectives
- Assist with the evaluation of solution options and provide recommendations based on business needs
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Develop test scenarios, test cases and UAT plans to validate proposed solutions
- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing activities with business stakeholders
- Work with developers and QA teams to identify, track and resolve defects and issues
- Verify that delivered solutions meet agreed business requirements and acceptance criteria
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a key liaison between business users, product teams and technology teams
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure project objectives and outcomes are clearly understood
- Support change adoption activities by assisting stakeholders with solution implementation and process changes
- Provide regular updates on project progress, requirements status and delivery outcomes
How to Succeed
You're an analytical and detail-oriented professional with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for improving business processes and delivering technology solutions that create measurable business value.
We are looking for someone with the following:
- 3+ years' experience in a Business Analyst or similar role
- Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience preparing user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps and workflows
- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Exposure to financial services, lending, asset finance or related industries is desirable
- Experience using JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart or similar tools
- Basic understanding of APIs, JSON, XML and SQL would be advantageous
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline
- Must have Australian the legal right to work in Australia or be eligible to obtain suitable work rights.

Pay: $95,000.00 – $105,000.00 per year
