About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering participants to build independence, develop life skills, and engage meaningfully in their communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing personal care and daily living support
- Assisting with meal preparation and household tasks
- Supporting participants with community access and social engagement
- Assisting with transportation to appointments and activities
- Supporting participants to achieve their NDIS goals
- Administering or assisting with medication as required
- Implementing Behaviour Support Plans where applicable
- Maintaining accurate progress notes and incident reports
- Promoting participant choice, dignity, and independence
- Creating positive and meaningful experiences for participants
What We're Looking For
- Genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
- Willingness to provide personal care support when required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, professional, and compassionate approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in disability, mental health, aged care, or community services (preferred).
- Ability to complete case notes, progress notes, and incident reports accurately and on time.
- Commitment to following support plans, behaviour support plans, and organisational policies.
- Confidence using smartphones, apps, tablets, and basic computer systems for documentation and communication.
- Understanding of person-centred support and the NDIS framework.
Essential Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Valid Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
- Right to work in Australia
- Relevant qualifications (Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or similar) highly regarded
