We are a local cafe in Epping specialising in premium, delicious italian food and sandwhiches. We offer a much calmer, friendlier pace of work where your passion for food can shine without the kitchen hustle.
The Role:
We are looking for a reliable, experienced Chef/Cook to take work in our Cafe. This is a hands-on role where you will be trusted with running the space efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Creation: Preparing and styling our signature sandwhiches and menu items to a high standard.
- Daily Operations: Opening the shop (setting up for success) and/or closing the shop
- Deep Cleaning: Maintaining a spotless, hygienic, and organised kitchen environment.
- Coffee & Front-of-House Support: Jumping on the coffee machine and assisting customers when needed.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements):CRITICAL NOTE: Please do not apply if you have never worked in a cafe or commercial kitchen before.
- Hospitality Savvy: You deeply understand kitchen workflows, food safety standards, and hospitality dynamics.
- A Cleaning Champion: You must know how to properly clean, sanitize, and maintain a kitchen area. If you think cleaning is "someone else's job," this isn't the role for you.
- Coffee Skills (Highly Regarded): If you can confidently make coffee and froth milk to perfection, that is a massive plus! Training can be included
- Reliability: Since you will be opening and closing the shop, punctuality and trustworthiness are non-negotiable.
- Customer Service: Be able to talk to customer and upsell foods.
